Controllers and I/O

Our VME-based PLCs and I/O modules provide links to items such as drives and drive systems, servomotor controllers, vision systems and bus-to-bus interface modules. They can also be combined with our Genius® Modular Redundancy (GMR) systems and Hot Standby systems to provide as much redundancy as necessary. GMR is an ideal choice for rigorous emergency shutdown and human life protection systems. The GMR System has a class 6 TÜV rating.

  • GE Intelligent Platforms Controllers Help Satisfy Variable Demands of Aviation Fueling Systems

    • The largest aviation fueling system supplier in the world, Bay’s Fueling Division operates as a manufacturer’s representative and original equipment manufac- turer (OEM) of valves, controls, and equipment used in storage, transfer, and dispensing of fossil fuels for military and commercial aircraft. Using GE Intelligent Platforms Series 90TM programmable logic controllers (PLCs) manufactured by GE Intelligent Platforms, Bay designs unique, high-performance systems that instantaneously respond to the infinitely variable demands and pressure conditions associated with aircraft fueling.

  • Proficy software chosen for ‘Fields of the Future’ oil installation

    • Silvertech was chosen by BP to develop a state-of-the-art, integrated control and safety system for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel operated in the Schiehallion oil field west of the Shetland. Silvertech chose the HMI/SCADA software from GE Intelligent Platforms Proficy production and automation software suite in response to a BP initiative looking at ‘best practice’ solutions within their “Fields of the Future” project. The design solution provided the capability to test the existing and new systems in parallel to ensure an uninterrupted, smooth transition to the new infrastructure.
